Today I felt defeated, I couldn't fight off my insecurities and started to become overwhelmed by my shortcomings. It took a minute but I remembered I could give all of these feelings to God and He would give me beauty for my ashes. I was just like that woman at the well I didn’t have to thirsty if I drank from God's living water. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm sure when my 3rd-grade teacher was writing those comments on my report card she wasn't giving me all compliments. As I stand here let me tell you that all that talking gave me the practice I needed to stand before you. The dramatic flair my teacher probably could have done without is what helped to bring out my creativity. Which enables me a see the beauty in everything.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today we all witnessed when the sky is no longer the limit what can happen. God said He fearfully and wonderfully made each of us. That means those traits He gave you and me have a purpose. A purpose to serve the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I had to look in the mirror and acknowledge the mistakes I made. The look in my eyes was one of disappointment and uncertainty. As I continued to look tears began to flow. A little light started to shine in my eyes. My spirit said you are not the sum of those things. You are so much more. You are the best-untold story.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Were I am right now.... is just a chapter. The distractions are simply that. I chose to show up every day in every situation because I choose PEACE. The PEACE to know I gave my all and it was good.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve heard to not look back always forward. I disagree.. a glance back at times reminds you about the journey or taste of the past. It helps to encourage you on how far you've come. Your growth and development pushing you into the future.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
