2021 is the year … The year of my learning to trust God. You might say, don’t you trust God?
That is the million-dollar question? Do I Trust God? Really Trust Him? The truth is, as much as I trust Him, I sometimes tremble amid adversity. Let His will be done is used as an excuse to mask my disappointment when the prayers seem unanswered
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding;.” Proverbs 3:5 NIV
he first time I saw a positive sign on a pregnancy stick, I was in amazement that God chose me to be someone’s mom. That same amazement met sadness within a few days. Sadness became grief as with each new positive test, the life within me died. Why me, God? I trust you, Lord! But why me? I asked him repeatedly why He chose this cup for me? I had a dream of a baby boy. Lord is this the baby? 4 months later, I found out I was pregnant. God, you are so faithful, is what I said. But the truth was I was afraid to trust Him. I didn’t want to be disappointed again.
When my doctor found a lump in my breast (she thought it was a pea) turned out to be the size of a lemon. I asked again; Lord, let this cup pass from me. My mother had just died from breast cancer. He said, trust me. But How do you trust God when your legs are about to buckle. Praise God I am here today, nine years later.
You may wonder why I am telling you this. The truth is God has shown that I can Trust Him time and time again, and Yet I find myself questioning Him time and time again, asking Him to help me in my unbelief.
There are some Visions, Dreams, Ideas, and whispers that God has given you, and you keep finding yourself wanting to believe but faltering in the midst. The Dream is so big that you can’t figure it out. It’s not for you to figure it out. Trust the one who gave you the Dream!
Five Scriptures that I have been committing to my heart to help me when I start to question God’s plan for my life ;
- “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”Hebrews 11:1 NIV
- Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 37:4 NIV
- “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”Psalms 91:2 NIV
- “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4 NIV
- “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalms 9:10 NIV
As Pastor Mike said, “ We out Here” in the Deep!
I am holding to the vision God has shown me, still Trusting Him because I know He is a promise keeper ~ The rainbow still comes out after the Rain. Trust Him!
Father, we thank you for who you are. Lord, we lift your name above all names. You are the God that created the heavens and earth in six days. Father, we place our trust in you! We thank you that you are a promise keeper. We tune our ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit so that we can hear your voice. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness Amen.
